Finding natural and effective colours for cold process soap making has always been an interesting and rewarding challenge. Some colours are easier to achieve than others. Some tend to fade over time while others render undesired or inconsistent results. We believe our ongoing research enhances the science of soap making and further expands the possibilities of this ancient craft. This issue we will be exploring a few of our recent results and discoveries. We have developed a range of earth colourants for your soap, salts and bath bubblers. Made with naturally occurring lead-free pure earth oxides and botanical roots these colours will give your products a lovely earthy shade of Purple, Blue, Yellow, Red (pink too) and Green. All shades are fade and scent stable, they will hold their colour much longer than using just herbs and spices and will not interfere with any scent they are combined with.natural soap colorants for making soap

If adding more you will need to reduce your water content by the same amount that you add in liquid. For instance: if adding 4 tablespoons (60ml) of liquid colour and the soap recipe calls for 300 grams (300ml) of water than reduce your water by 40ml.
